The Liberty Spring Pollinator and Demonstration Garden was established in July 2017. The garden is about 192 square feet providing a point of interest in the Liberty Spring Ruritan Park where visitors can watch pollinators while reading the paper or taking lunch. The Garden is a joint project supported by both the Liberty Spring Ruritan Club and Suffolk Extension Master Gardeners. The garden provides visitors an opportunity to view a wide variety of native pollinators in action. Planned community education sessions include National Pollinator Week, offering a tour of the garden and participation in a pollinator count. Information about the garden is shared on Facebook and other social media platforms, including when Extension Master Gardeners (EMGs) are in the garden and able to answer questions. Come see this great example of a rural pollinator habitat!
